Beschreibung
(London: Jonathan Cape 1934). First UK Edition, first printing, preceded by two German-language editions published in 1912 and 1924. This is the first English language edition. Publisher's original black cloth with spine lettered in gilt and top-edge stained black. A really bright and clean near fine copy with the black top-edge entirely un-faded. No wear or fading to the boards. Some foxing to the fore and bottom edges. No page toning. No wear to the spine ends. A much nicer copy than normally encountered of one of the most influential and political thinkers of the 20th century. "A detailed sophisticated explanation of the quantity theory of money based on the subjective, marginal utility theory. Explains money's origin, the development and nature of banking, the cause and consequences of inflation and credit expansion, the differences in the value of different moneys, as well as the reason for 'cyclical' economic fluctuations." (B2 Greaves & McGee). Mises wrote this book for the ages, and it remains the most spirited, thorough, and scientifically rigorous treatise on money to ever appear. It made his reputation across Europe and established him as the most important economist of his age. Photographs/scans available upon request. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 355490722741
