Publishers' quarter black cloth with gilt titles to spine, and brown paper-covered boards with gilt titles and decoration to upper board; fore-and lower-edges uncut; in publishers' beige dust-jacket. Corners and spine tips a little bruised. Scattered light foxing; several leaves unopened; no annotation or inscriptions. Jacket surface soiled with nicks & creases to edge, small tape repair to reverse at tail of spine, 2 cm split at lower front fold and small loss at head of spine. A very good copy in like dust-jacket. Rare true American First Edition (copies with date 1913 printed to title page are actually the 1906 Heinemann first printing with a Luce & Co. cancel title).
