This is an English adaption by Patricia Moyes of Jean Anouilh's 'Leocadia'. This is an interesting copy as it comes from the private collection of the the actor Paul Scofield who played Prince Albert Troubiscoi in a performance of this play at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith in 1954 and again at New Theatre, London in 1955, although but there are no markings on the book to verify this. Publisher's original brown cloth binding with title in gilt on spine. In original dust jacket, unclipped, price 7s 6d. Dust jacket worn at edges, tear at base of spine, spine light faded, foxing on back. Binding is fine. Pages bright and clean with slight foxing on front and end plates.
