(London: Geoffrey Bles n.d. [1928]). First UK Edition. 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. 288 pages. Publisher's red boards with black lettering to the spine and title and author in black to the front board with a single black border with the Geoffrey Bles eagle in profile to the spine. Cooper and Pike note that the first edition of this title is not dated. A former owner's name and date to the front paste-down otherwise about VG with a partially faded spine, rubbing to the spine edges and softening to the head and tail thereof. In the VERY RARE dust wrapper priced 7/6 net to the spine (as called). The 7/6 are to the spine is lighter than the rest of the spine perhaps suggesting that a later price over-label has been removed at some stage in its life. The D/W is VG indeed with the shallowest of wear at the head and tail of the spine and with a short, closed tear to the top edge of the front panel. Exceedingly uncommon in D/W. Dr. Priestley # 5. Photographs/scans available upon request. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 355490720542

Third printing of the 1928 first edition. Publisher's original red cloth with black titles to the upper board and spine, in the Abbey illustrated dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a small chip to the top right corner of the spine and remnants of a paper label over the 3/6 printed publisher's price. The artwork is the same as that of the first printing. An attractive example of an uncommon early Dr. Priestley title in dustwrapper. (Hubin). Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 23966
