Aesop's fables are a collection of ethical fables, guiding in religious, social, and political themes.Illustrated and arranged by Walter Crane, one of the most influential children's illustrators of his time. He was an admirer of the Pre-Raphaelites, Italian Renaissance, and Japanese art.Printed by Edmund Evans. Evans was a wood-engraver and full-colour printing, and worked to produce many classic children's books.Evans and Crane begun working together in 1863, and the begun collaborating in 1851 to produce two or three toy books for children each year for over ten years. In the publisher's original paper vellum backed cloth covered boards. Externally, smart. Light handling marks to paper vellum, with bumping to back strip head and tail.
