From the early years of the Silver Age of comics, issue No. 12 in the original run of Turok under the Dell publishing banner as a quarterly comic. June - August 1958. NOTE: This issue has the original 10-cent price on the cover and not the 15-cent (San Francisco) variant. It features the typical painted cover that stood Turok apart from many other comics, created by the talented and prolific Morris "Mo" Gollub (1910-1984), and contains the graphic Turok stories "The Conqueror" and "Perilous Voyage", along with "Dominion of the Sky" (another installment in the 'Young Earth' series) and a 1-page text story called "Saba the Mighty". It consists of 32 newsprint pages plus covers, saddle-stitched. Condition: The front cover has a few minor creases from handling. The only edgewear is a single small crease on the right side. The color remains bright. Back cover has two small areas of edgewear at the top. The white areas of the color Schwinn bike ad show some light soiling, and a light 2 1/4-inch long water stain is present at the bottom right (see photos of covers). Page tips at top are bumped, tips at bottom are sharp. Slight wear at the spine ends. Page edges have darkened. The page margins are very lightly toned, looking better than many comics of equal age. No roll to the spine and the pages remain supple and firm with no rips or chips. The cover and staples are tight. Conservatively graded Fine (6.0), based on the grading standards in the 51st Edition of Overstreet (2021-2022), pp 212-215. Comes in an archival Mylar sleeve with archival backing board.
