Hard Cover. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Dust Jacket. First Edition. First UK Edition. Neat contemporary name and date on the front paste-down, outlines of some old pencil prices rubbed out on the FFEP and slight flattening to both the tip and tail of the spine otherwise a solid VG copy with bright and clean boards. The D/W (priced 8s net to the inside flap as called for) has benefitted from some highly skilled archival repair and refurbishment (by one of the UK's leading paper conservators) to a couple of minor chips and short tears and now shows as a most attractive example. In our experience "In Two Latitudes" is one of the scarcest wartime Simenon first editions and seldom found in attractive, shelvable condition (as this copy is). Included is a photograph of the D/W pre and post restoration. A fragile and scarce war-time production. This copy has lasted the test of time pretty well. Uncommon.
