Full history of Bircle, more commonly called Birtle, in Lancashire. Written by Rev. (later Canon) Arthur Dobb (1931-2009). His first curacy was St Paul s, Deansgate, Manchester in 1958 and a second curacy, in Rawtenstall, was followed by incumbencies at Bircle in Bury, then Harwood, and finally Wingates in Bolton, before he retired in 1996.
