Undated for 1832. 48 pages, paperback binding fair, minor dirt, & corner folding. Contents fair/good, good clear printing, original red tax stamp to inside front, a little corner tip folding, a few inscriptions. A couple of edge tears, Contains some woodcuts in text, An interesting almanac for the period, with dates of festivals, etc., planetary movements, tide tables, chronology eclipses of the sun & moon, Lunar occultations, an interesting woodcut of a giant with a club about to club the devil who is sitting on a dead? Britannia with a military man watching and drummer boy watching etc., To rear is 12 pages of Dingle s additional tables for 1832 for Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, including taxes on windows, cost to hire carriages, horses,stamp duties, bonds etc, names of local dignitaries, fairs, names of constables and the town, names of carriers from Bury (St Edmunds) & distances from London and local towns and from each other ( was free with the almanac.) + 4 pages of ads of Family medicines from J. Dingle of Bury (St Edmunds) inc. Dr Hooper s Pills, Dr. Radcliffe s Elixir, Rymer s Cardiac & Nervous Tincture etc. This is for just one from a collection of almanacs from 1814-1845, owners name (unable to decipher) Mr John Kierman ?or Kiernan ? Lawshall Hall, Suffolk of Lawshall, a small village between Bury St. Edmunds & Ballingdon on the outskirts of Sudbury Essex. Lawshall Hall has been derelict for many years, Queen Elizabeth I visited Henry Drury at Lawshall Hall during her Royal Progress tour in August 1578.This one NOT with owners name. so please see my others on sale or go to sellers link above, then Malcolm books and put in almanac in title.
