Beschreibung
A superb copy bound in finely textured paper-covered boards stamped brightly in gold on the spine. Very clean and tight throughout; virtually unread. In a near-fine dust jacket with the original price of $16.95 at the top of the inside front flap; great photo on the rear panel of Satterthwait leaning against a tree. His first detective novel. This copy has been inscribed by Satterthwait with the special quotation, perhaps from the novel, in his hand: "Does that mean you're a cyinc or simply a romantic?" "So far as I can tell, they're both the same thing." Walter Satterthwait 1/18/92" This is the first Joshua Croft mystery and the winner of the Shamus Award for Best First P.I. Novel in 1989. Beginning withWall of Glass(1988), Satterthwait wrote five Croft novels, concluding the series with 1996 sAccustomed to the Dark. In between Croft books, he wrote mysteries starring historical figures, includingMiss Lizzie(1989), a novel about Lizzie Borden, andWilde West(1991), a western mystery starring Oscar Wilde.
