An outstanding copy of this collection of ghost stories from Le Fanu, credited with being one of the more influential horror writers of the 19th century; Le Fanu being central to the development of the ghost story during the Victorian Era; this collection published posthumously by Downey & Co. in 1894 (Le Fanu passed in 1873). This copy is in very good condition showing a mild cock to the binding, light rubbing and bumping to the board edges, a mild discoloration to the spine and front board, and a small area of chipping to the top of the front free paper, also with a small tear to the front free paper with a piece of tape repair.
