In 1988 Tollcross Local History Project completed a two year historical study of the Tollcross, Fountainbridge and West Port area, culminating in the publication of By The Three Great Roads. Within a few months the Project team learned of the great interest in this book, particularly from the many people who had left the area before the large scale demolition of tenements in the 1960s and 70s.
