Step was best known for his popular works on nature such as flowers, woodlands and herbs. In this two volume set, Step describes a multitude of wild flowers and their natural habitats that he accompanies with photographs taken by himself. In the publisher's original half crushed morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally generally smart with light rubbing to the extremities, joints and spines, the odd minor mark to the boards and fading to the spines and head of front board. Hinges starting but firm to 'volume II'. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages. The odd spot to the frontispieces and title pages and to the front and rear blanks to 'Vol II'.
