This first edition [last page has the Appleton (1) on it] has a noticeable lean, four very lightly bumped corners, only one of which has any fabric damage and that is very slight; and head and heel of the spine that are also lightly bumped without fabric damage. There are no edge dings or staining to the boards. The exterior has light general wear; and, unfortunately, the applique on the front panel has suffered some of that wear (see photo). Except for an inked inscription and a stamped name on the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and page damage; several pages have small, non-intrusive stains (see photo).
