The madcap joys of downhill, skating, curling and apres-ski when active sporting winter getaways in the Alps were first catching on big-time among the moneyed leisure class in the twenties. Insouciant flappers and all their uninhibited pleasures and spirit captured in this arch ABC! 4to. 27 by 18.5 cm. Unpaginated, 56 pp. Dancing, spooning and cocktails are as much a part of the antics as the more official sports. Based on the illustrations of curling, the very same people who were doing it then are still at it -- and they didn't look any younger then, nor had sweeter dispositions. The illustrations are rendered in black, gold yellow and white, with occasional touches of red. Light soiling to the paper pastedown. Cracked hinge at "S".
