A very smart edition of this scarce collection of Ballads from British writer Alice Sargant, accompanied by fine etchings by Scottish artist William Strang (1859-1921). Strang was notable for illustrating the works of Bunyan, Coleridge, and Kipling. With some pages unopened. In the original publisher"s quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. With gilt title to the front board and spine. Internally, firmly bound. Some light spotting to pastedowns and endpapers. Otherwise pages are bright and clean. Some pages are unopened.
