Nobbes was the first to write extensively on the subject of trolling, and has come to be called "the father of trolling." Rivers in England included in Nobbes' treatise: Avon, Cham, Swift, Ouse, Humber, Trent, Tine [Tyne], Tweed, Severne, Thames, Chester, Dove, Medway, Tame [Thames].
