Topeka, Kansas, octavo, 194 p. ***CONTENT: In addition to topics covered in the title above, this comprehensive volume details the laws of Kansas that apply to a variety of subjects and circumstances: taxation matters, appropriations and current expenses, bridges and roads, county affairs and boundaries, judicial matters, regulations for manufacturing, mining, and quarry operations, regulation of railroads, wills and bond issues, education and militia matters, Indian land titles, etc., and more mundane subjects, such as "an act to prevent swine from running at large in Atchison County". ***CONDITION: This is a Good copy, with a sound, full leather front cover; rear cover absent, spine leather very worn. Front board detached. The text pages are well preserved: fresh, clean, and bright; sewing and binding strong. ***PROVENANCE: The only evidence of previous ownership is stamped lettering of the "Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway" on the front cover. This railway was established in 1865, and served an extensive rail network in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. After acquiring several other smaller railroads, in 1988 it became part of the Union Pacific system. There are penciled marginalia in the chapter pertaining to rail lines.
