In full speckled calf leather fine bindings, with raised banding and gilt decorations to spines, with red leather spine labels lettered in gilt. Red speckled page edges, plain endpapers. In very good conditions. Some minor darkening to spines and edges of boards. Small chips to top ends of spines of vols. 3 & 4. Some minor handling marks to boards, some rubbing to edges, surface chip to leather on rear of vol.3. Endpapers clean and bright, neat inscription to front of each vol., ?Thos. Powell, Brecon.? Frontis plates bright and clean, inside pages all very clean, bright and tight throughout. Else an excellent clean and tight early set. 4 vols: 396, 372, 371 & 383pp. Illustrated with a B&W engraved frontis portrait in vol.1. With chapter decorations and tailpieces at ends.
