Antique Photograph album with 223 original photos each measuring 4" x 3" mounted four to a page - some portraits others landscape. also a panorama taken from Melantee - half way up Ben Nevis. Many are views but the photographer clearly stayed at various small guest houses and photographed the families there - naming them, their children and even pets. General examples are the Forth Bridge; Strathyre Railway Station; Caledonian Canal; Arrochar and Tarbet Railway Station (2); Mrs McLean and family at Tarbet; Garlochhead Railway Station; Blair Atholl Railway Station; Blair Castle; Inverness Express approaching Killiecrankie Railway Station; Birnam and Dunkeld Railway Station; Rock of Dumbarton; Seaforth Highlander on guard; Fort William Quay; Glen Finnan from the Railway Station; Glenfinnan Railway Station; Long John Distillery at Fort William; Mr Edgar in Cameronian uniform; horse and cart in Glen Roy Spean Bridge Railway Station; Mallaig Quay; Crofters cottage at Portree; Uig Bay at Skye, Vigg Inn at Skye (2); Mrs McLeod at Portree and Dunstaffnage Castle Horse & Cart. More specifically families photographed are Mrs Johnson with her daughter at Montora, Callander; Mrs McLean "The Cnoc" Tarbert, Stockgown House, Blair Athol, Tichnacraig St.Fillans; MacDonald family and Mr Edgar in Cameronians uniform at Senekal Fort William including Evelyn, Evan, Rose & Alice; Also Hugh Cameron Mountain Guide on Ben Nevis with ponies. Miss Robertson & Niece at Tigh-na-Hoibbin, Bridge of Tilt, Mrs & Miss McEwen and family 13 Castle Terrace Edinburgh. Mrs MacLeod Portree. The photographs are generally VG with litt;le fading; Each photo individually neatly labeled; there is some foxing but the photos unaffected. Binding sound but some wear of edges.
