Framing: Unframed An original 1949 photograph measuring approximately 5 x 7 inches taken and printed in 1949 by John Bilangio, Yonkers NY. See other beauties from same contest in my store. Miss America 1949, the 23rd Miss America pageant, was held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 10, 1949. The contest was won by Jacquelyn Joy Mercer Miss Arizona who was married and divorced during her reign as Miss America after this, a rule was enacted which requires Miss America contestants to sign a pledge vowing they have never been married or pregnant. Fine detail with light edge curling and wear, creasing with other small blemishes as pictured. Light paper and any backstamp cannot be seen from front under normal light conditions with dark backing.
