CASTI is a Professor at the Institute for Econometrics, Operations Research, and System Theory at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, and a Researcher at the Santa Fe Institute, Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is the author or editor of over ten books, including Linear Dynamical Systems, Searching for Certainty: What Scientists Can Know About the Future, Paradigms Lost: Tackling the Unsolved Mysteries of Modern Science, and Alternate Realities. Dr. Casti has also published over 80 research papers. Dr. Casti received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Southern California in 1970.
