L'edizione originale di quest'operetta e' del 1786. Melzi, II, 470. L'autore fu scrittore e musicista Piemontese, vissuto tra il 1736 e il 1794, rappresentante della classe nobiliare esaltatrice dei valori legati al cattolicesimo, acerrimo nemico del Voltaire.
