Inhaltsangabe: Elizabeth's classic best seller from 1979 is brought back to life for a new generation. Humorous, honest, Bible based and compelling, this ageless primer on the joys and traumas of dealing with kids, husbands, and dirty dishes will have you laughing and bring you to tears. Above all, her practical advice will provide realistic solutions to problems that never change.
Especially helpful for the young mother or new bride, Elizabeth finished the original book just days before her 30th birthday. For this current version, she has added a 2011 forward where she comments: "Some things never change. Motherhood [still] involves joys and baby puke, insecurities and dreams, hard work and confusion--just like always. And, the practicality of applying Bible solutions to daily problems works the same yesterday, today and forever.
Join her in an exploration that never grows old. With chapters like, "If Your Husband's Not a Christian" and "Work or Not to Work" Elizabeth tackles issues that are modern in every respect while her home-spun style makes the reader feel as though she is having coffee with a wise friend.
From the Author:
I wrote this book in 1974, just days before my 30th birthday. It was my first attempt at writing but thanks to a good editor and committed publishers it sold better than anything else to date! I remember when the kids looked at the finished book for the first time, they remarked, "How did they know we had a green bird?" Well, of course, the artist didn't know that but the cover ended up an uncanny reflection of our family anyway.
Times have changed since this was first issued. It was my suggestion that the woman doing dishes on the cover be shown in pants rather than a skirt. This was a new idea within Christian circles but Victor went along with the innovation. Now, a woman doing housework in a skirt is rare (although some denominations prefer it that way).
Yet, biblical principles never change and I found very little updating was needed when I released the digital version in 2011. What I wrote in 1974 was just as applicable as it had ever been and I have no doubt it will be just as accurate a hundred years from now
