Two octavo volumes bound in full leather of the period, black and red leather spine labels lettered in gilt; clean tight and unmarked, minimal very light foxing almost entirely confined to the endpapers, some small chips and beginning of leather cracks at joints, but all covers holding firm; a very attractive set in original condition; large folding map appears unopened, engraved portrait frontispiece in Vol. 1, paginated lv, 585 and 636; one-inch clean closed tear in outer edge of title page of Vol. 2.
