Contemporary skiver (?) rubbed, over marbled paper backed boards, corners bumped, original printed paper label on the upper cover reading - An Improved edition of Mr. Byrom's short-hand. Preface dated 1803. Overaall,a near very good copy. The author regards Byrom's "Universal English short-hand" published Manchester, 1767 as the first edition of the present work. The 2nd edition appeared London 1796 under title: An abridgement of Mr. Byrom's Universal English short-hand (introduction signed: T.M.). Includes bibliographical footnotes.
