Colour folding map 91x61cm, in buff envelope titled in English and Arabic. Map fine, neatly folded. Envelope very good with small faint Geologists' Association ink stamp to the front. This map was one of the main products of the USGS / Aramco survey of Saudi Arabia (1956-63), that also produced two series of geological and geographical maps in 21 quadrangles each. As stated, this edition, specially prepared by the Ministry for distribution at the 26th IGC, "is a photographically reduced version of the 1963 edition of the U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Geologic Investigations Map I-270A". The IGC, founded at the Paris Exposition in 1878, is a non-profit body promoting research in earth sciences. It meets every 3-5 years, sponsored by the International Union of Geological Sciences.
