Colour paper map, scale approx 1/15M, sheet size 21x28cm, image size 18x16cm, blank to the verso. Good with light creasing and some wear at the edges. Dated 9-66 in the code. Not indicated as such, but this is a CIA map. These kinds of maps were produced to provide supporting information in internal US Government briefings. For example, a b/w version of this one was attached to a declassified memo from James Schlesinger to Henry Kissinger dated 12 March 1973, briefing him on the problem of Soviet influence in Iraq and Southern Arabia, and the rebellion in Oman. Details include international boundaries with the qualification "boundary representation is not necessarily authoritative" and many of which in the Peninsula not yet defined, capitals and other main settlements including the 7 Trucial Sheikhdoms and Buraimi, railroads, surfaced and unsurfaced roads or tracks, and the Neutral Zones.
