Original publisher's black and white engraved map of Europe. A beautiful map that also shows Iceland to the northwest and parts of Africa and Asia to the south and east, respectively. Major cities are shown along with natural geographic features such as rivers and seas. No date, circa 1820s-1830s. Map with margins measures 9" x 8"; actual map area measures 7 3/4" x 6 3/4." Map is very clean and intact except for slight foxing. Title printed in upper-left corner. Lines of latitude and longitude also included. The following is printed beneath the map: "Boston, Published by Samuel Walker. Engraved by W. Chapin, N.Y." William Chapin (1802-1888) was an engraver who was very prominent in his day and was based in New York and Philadelphia. He was active between 1817 and 1839. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 020179
