Femme de Schevelingen pres de la Haye.Copperplate engraving/etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper. Sheet size: 17 x 23,2 cm. Image size: 10,9 x 16,5 cm. Source unknown/to be determined.Made by an anonymous engraver after Bernard Picart. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French painter and engraver. He received his art education from his father, Etienne (1632-1721), from Le Brun and Jouvenet at the Royal Academy. His talents developed rapidly: at the age of sixteen he gained honors at the Academy of Paris.He was born in Paris and died in Amsterdam. Other engravers worked on this work as well.Condition: Good, given age. An occasional tiny spot. A few minor crinkles. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL.
