1886 A Stunning original antique lithograph titled HAEMANTHUS KALBREYERI . These stunning Chromolithographs are taken from L'ILLUSTRATION HORTICOLE' by Pietre de Pannemaeker & published by Jean Jules Linden. Linden's interest in Botany blossomed when at the age of 19 he was sponsored by the Belgium government on a scientific mission to Central and South America. Over the next 10 years he travelled this region in search of new Orchid & Botanical species. During his life, Linden, along with his son Lucien, was responsible for importing over 1100 different species of Orchids into Europe. The illustrations in this publication were the work of the noted 19th century Belgium Artist and lithographer Pieter de Pannemaeker. Size overall approx 27cm x 34.5cm, perfect for mounting & framing.
