This spectacular hand-colored copperplate engraving comes from Marc Eliesar Bloch's work: "Ichthyologie, ou Historie Naturelle, Generale et Particuliere des Poissons". The work was published between 1785-1797 in Berlin. This plate is number "CXXVII" and was engraved by A. F. Schmidt. Platemark measures: 8 1/2" x 13 1/4", printed on an 11" x 19" sheet of heavy wove paper. Hinged and matted to: 14" x 19 1/2".
