Watermark: A printdrawing is a work of art made to simulate a drawing, using a combination of graphical techniques including roulette, mezzotint, crayon / stipple engraving, etching and aquatint etching. Description: Source unknown, to be determined. State: Only state. Ref: Wurzbach 26? Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jurriaan Cootwijk' after 'Pieter Piera / Jan Asselyn'. Jurriaan Cootwijk / Cootwyck (1714-1798) was a Dutch engraver, active in Amsterdam. He worked for Ploos van Amstel and Christiaan Josi. Jan Asselijn (1610-1652) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman of the Dutch School. He went to Rome and became a Bentveughel, under the moniker Crabbetje (little crab) as his fingers were so crooked he could hardly hold a palette. Condition: Very good, given age.
