2 Antique prints, titled: 'O. D. Gordon.' - Set of two portraits of Otto Derk Gordon, colonel in the patriotic movement. Etching & mezzotint engraving (in brown) on laid paper. Description: Sold with a separately printed poem concerning Gordon in letterpress on laid paper. He was greatly disliked by the Orangist faction.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Reinier Vinkeles' after 'Cornelis van Cuylenburgh'. Reinier Vinkeles (Amsterdam; 1741-1816), was an 18th-century painter and engraver from the Northern Netherlands, who was the later teacher of several talented artists. He studied for some ten years with Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie Cornelis van Cuylenburgh (1754-1824) worked in Utrecht and later The Hague. Condition: Good, given age. Small margins, some creasing in the margins of the larger sheet. Margins of the smaller sheet a little soiled. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
