We offer an original signed mezzotint by the American artist Carol Wax. The plate size of Cinemanic is 9 ⅞ x 6 and it is expertly printed on ivory German etching paper that measures 15 ¾ x 11 ⅜ . It is editioned, titled and signed in graphite along the lower margin, just under the plate line: 34/160, Cinemanic, CWAX 02 . The artist s approach of arresting hyper-realism shows a reverence and joyful appreciation of mechanical aesthetics. This is an impeccable impression in a very low edition, printed by Wax in her studio. This was the 68th annual presentation print for the Print Club of Albany in 2002. Carol Wax, a native of New York, was born in 1953. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in 1975 and worked as a professional flutist for 15 years before moving her creative practice fully into the visual arts. Her work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum, and the New York Public Library. Wax is a celebrated expert in the print making community. She lectures and runs workshops across the United States. She also is the author of The Mezzotint: History and Technique. Condition: Fine, untouched. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers PR00505
