A collection of 32 prints (incl. some duplicates) of etchings and aquatints by Ludwig Hess. This includes many mountain landscapes, two prints published for the benefit of Swiss refugees, portraits of rustic Swiss people, a cow, and finally a portrait of Ludwig Hess. State: Various states Ref: Undescribed. Very interesting collection with proof impressions, early states etc.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Ludwig Hess' after own design. Ludwig Hess (1760-1800) was a Swiss landscape painter and engraver, born in Zurich. Influenced by Salomon Gessner, he started making landscapes.Condition: Very good, given age. With ands without margins. Some of the sheets soiled in the margins, and with scattered foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
