This old antique print originates from: "'Histoire Naturelle Gà nà rale et Particuliere.", by de Buffon & Dauberton. Nouvelle Edition, Amsterdam J.H. Schneider, 1766. Artists and Engravers: Author: Georges-Louis Le Clerc, Comte de Buffon (September 7, 1707 - April 16, 1788). French naturalist, mathematician, biologist, cosmologist and author. Buffon's views influenced the next two generations of naturalists, including Jean-Baptiste Lamarck and Charles Darwin. The engravers in this work are O. de V., C.F. Fritzsch (1719-c.1772), Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816), H. Vinkeles and Fringham after Jacques de Seve (active 1744-1788) and Buvee. These plates are engraved by Fritsch after de Seve.Condition: Fine. general age related toning. occasional faint spots / foxing as visible on scan.
