Costume plate: 'Meijerij van S'Bosch, Provincie Noord-Brabant'. It shows a family of man, woman and daughter in traditional clothing leading an ox cart past a signpost on the intersection of roads from Boekel and Mill. Original handcoloured crayon style lithograph with lithographed tinted background, on a vellin type paper. Description: This original antique print was published in 1857 by Frans Buffa & Zonen Amsterdam as part of the publication 'Nederlandsche Kleederdrachten naar de natuur' (Dutch folk costume, illustrated using real-life models) by Valentyn Bing.Artists and Engravers: The plate was drawn by Jan Braet von Uberfeldt, the lithograph printed by Desguerrois. Jan Braet von Uberfeldt (1807-1894) was a Dutch painting master, artist and lithograph. Piet Mondriaan was a student of Braet von Uberfeldt. Condition: Good given age. Quite foxed, also affecting the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional light stains from handling. Please study scan carefully.
