This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Dictionnaire Classique des Sciences Naturelles .' (Classic dictionary of natural sciences), by M. Drapiez. published in Brussels, 1853. This work elaborates on the work of Buffon, Daubenton, Lacepede, Cuvier, de Jussieu a.o. Artists and Engravers: Pierre Auguste Joseph Drapiez (1778-1856) was a Belgian naturalist. Engraved by Desmares.Condition: Very good, given age. Offsetting from letter press on the opposite page. Left edge with remains from binding. Minimal foxing in the top and right margin. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling.
