Antique Master Print, titled: 'L' Heure du repos' - (The Hour of Rest) Farmers resting after work on the land with horse and trees. Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Pierre-Francois Basan' after 'Franz-Edmund Weirotter'. Pierre-Francois Basan (Paris 1723-1797) is a French engraver. He was a pupil of Etienne Fessard and Jean Daulle. He was principally occupied as a printseller, and published a 'Dictionnaire des Graveurs' in 1789. Franz Edmund Weirotter (Innsbruck 1733 - Wien 1771) was an Austrian landscape painter and etcher. Condition: Very good, given age. Some faint soiling in the margin.
