This plate shows a young woman sitting beside a tree, resting a rake against her left shoulder, smiling down at two little boys, one of which lies on against the verge at her feet, the other kneeling beside him, holding a bird in a cage, with fields, harvesters and a distant town in the background to right. Rare and attractive romantic print. This original antique print was published by Anthony Cardon in London in 1801.
