Antique print, untitled. It shows: landscape with a tower and two monks. Etching, on laid paper. Description: From a set of in total 60 landscapes with all kind of dutch scenery published in 1616. State: II (4). Ref: Hollstein 275. Artists and Engravers: Made by Jan van de Velde. Jan van de Velde (1593-1641) came from the southern Netherlands as a fugitive around 1600 to the Netherlands. His father was a writingmaster and Jan trainend as an etcher. He produced many highly important series of landscape prints. Condition: Very good, thread margins. From the collection of H. C.
