Antique Master Print, untitled. Oval with the Virgin and Christ child. Very good impression. State: Second state of 2. Ref: Bellini 12. Etching on hand laid (verge) paper. Made by 'Carlo Maratta' after own design. Carlo Maratta or Maratti (1625-1713) was an Italian painter of the High Baroque period, active mostly in Rome. Good, given age. Ample margins. Small stains in the lower margin and lower edge of the image, as well as a faint stain in the (blank) top right corner of the image area and a small stain in the left margin, just outside image area. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 16.7 x 23.1 cm. The image size is ca. 12.8 x 17.3 cm.
