Antique Master Print, titled: 'Tobie II' - A scene from the Book of Tobit: Tobiah/Tobias (the son of Tobit) takes leave of his father and mother, under the care of the angel Raphael (disguised as family). In the background another scene is visible, where the fish nearly eats Tobiah's foot. Etching & engraving on hand laid paper. Watermark: Grapes with monogram and lily; countermark A. L. Heritier (= from the city of Rioms in the Auvergne -region, ca. 1645). Description: Published by Philippe Huart I in Paris, ca. 1640. Very interesting print, which shows similarities with the landscapes of Willem van Nieulandt form the set Hollstein 76-111, published at the same time in Paris.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous. Condition: Very good, given age. Full margins, original central fold. Some small stains and creasing in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
