A female model stands beside him while a second female figure brings in a glass and jug with refreshments. A viola da gamba leans against the wall. Crayon style lithograph on Chine-collee on wove paper. Description: Published by Hanfstaengl, with his blindstamped publisher's mark in the caption below the image.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl' after 'Frans van Mieris'. Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl (1804-1877) was a German painter, lithographer and photographer. Frans van Mieris (1635-1681) was a Dutch Golden Age portrait and genre painter. He was the leading member of his family of painters, also including his two sons and grandson. Condition: Excellent, given age. Margins stained and browned. Remains of attachment to carrier to the front of the sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
