ÂThis attractive original old antique print / plate originates from the book: 'Hugo de Groots Nederlandtsche Jaerboeken.', published in 1681. These portraits are also to be found in othert sources and editions : P.C. Hooft, Bor, or Jean Le Clerc. Published between 1670 and 1730.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Bernard Picart' after own design. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French painter and engraver. He received his art education from his father, Etienne (1632-1721), from Le Brun and Jouvenet at the Royal Academy. His talents developed rapidly: at the age of sixteen he gained honors at theCondition: Good, given age. Ample margins. A small crease from the left margin into the image.
