Original antique print, titled: 'Ungarische Leinwandhandler'. It shows: a full-length portrait of a Hungarian travelling cloth salesman, carrying a bale of cloth on his back. Etching/engraving on a vellin type paper. Description: Exact source unknown. Published 1812. Johann Adam Klein (Nuremberg 1792 - Munich 1875) was a German painter and engraver. He was initially trained by Georg Christoph von Bemmel, apprenticed to the studio of Ambroise Gabler in 1805, and studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts from 1811 to 1818. His battle scenes gained him his greatest reputation. Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped, remains of attachment to carrier to the rear. Scattered faint foxing in the margins.
