Antique print, titled: First stage of Cruelty. It shows several groups of young boys torturing animals: one ties a bone to a dog's tail, another tries to forcibly insert a rod into a dog's behind, two boys burn out a pigeon's eyes, a laughing group hangs two kittens by their tails, while one cat with makeshift wings is thrown from a window. Amidst this is one 'Youth of gentler Heart' who wants to give up his tart to save a dog. Etching and engraving on a vellin type paper. Description: Separately published master print.
