Page 96, emblem: 'Hoc sat opum est.' (To posess little is wealth. Small load, great ease.). The emblem shows a stick with a small bag attached to it symbolizing a simple life with little posessions is preferable. Surrounded by a decorative border with fruit and ornaments. Copperplate engraving and text on verge type hand laid paper. Text front and rear. Description: This rare authentic old antique print / plate originates from: 'Afbeeldinghe van d'eerste eeuwe der Societeyt Iesu voor ooghen ghestelt door de Duyts-Nederlantsche Provincie der selver Societeyt.' (transl.: Images of the first century of Jesuits presented by the German-Netherlands Province of said Society.), by Jean Bollandus ao., published by Plantijn/Plantin, Antwerp, 1640. This work was translated by Laurentius Uwens from the latin ed., published in the same year: 'Imago primi saeculi societatis Iesu .' The famous centennial publication of the Low Countries Jesuits, containing beautiful emblematic engravings.Artists and Engravers: Authors: Johannes Bolland (1596-1665), Jean de Tollenaere (1582-1643), Sidronius de Hossche (1596-1653), Jacques van de Walle (1599-1690), Philip Fruytiers (1610-1666).
