Antique print, titled: 'Opening the fifth seal.' - ('When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained', Revelation 6). A fiery figure emerges from the pit with John standing beside it. From 'The Revelation of Saint John the Divine', published in London by Collins, ca. 1950. Ref: IconClass 73G312. Chromolithograph on wove paper. Made by 'Hans Feibusch' after own design. Hans Feibusch (1898-1998) was a German artist and sculptor of Jewish descent. He lived and worked in Britain from 1933 until his death. Very good, given age. Remains of attachment to carrier in the top margin (verso). Faint remains of pencil annotation in the top and lower right corners. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
